Ukraine unveils flying ambulance drone for frontline evacuations

Ukraine has introduced a remotely operated flying ambulance drone designed to evacuate wounded soldiers from areas that ground vehicles can’t reach. The aircraft can lift 150 kg and reach speeds of 105 km/h, and it’s built to fly over minefields, rivers, and damaged roads. That could dramatically shorten the dangerous journey from the front line.

Footage shows a representative stepping out of the drone’s cabin after landing while the operator stays at a distance. Manufacturer StarGate says the system could cut evacuation times from hours or days to minutes, allowing troops to get medical attention much sooner. The drone uses Starlink and SkyFall’s L-Link system, with AI assistance to counter satellite navigation jamming.

The drone has also been shown deploying a net to intercept hostile drones. A Ukrainian combat brigade has received a prototype for frontline testing, but SkyFall has yet to publish findings. Its performance in real combat evacuations remains to be independently confirmed.
